Frequently Asked Questions
How many pages does it crawl?▾
The tool scans all links found on the page you enter, checking up to 200 unique links per scan. It checks the single page you provide, not the entire site.
What types of broken links are detected?▾
The tool detects 404 errors, 500 server errors, timeout issues, redirect responses, and links that fail to connect entirely.
How long does a scan take?▾
Most scans complete in 10-30 seconds. Links are checked in parallel batches of 30 with a 5-second timeout per link.
How does this tool check links?▾
Our servers fetch the page you provide, extract all links from the HTML, and then check each link by sending an HTTP request. This server-side approach can detect issues that browser-based tools might miss.
Why are some links shown as redirects?▾
A redirect means the link points to a URL that forwards to a different URL. While not broken, excessive redirects slow down your site. Consider updating links to point directly to the final destination.
Can I scan pages behind a login?▾
No. The tool can only scan publicly accessible URLs. Pages behind authentication or firewalls cannot be reached by our servers.
Does it check external links too?▾
Yes. The tool checks both internal links (same domain) and external links (other domains) found on the page. External links that return 404 or timeout are flagged as broken.
